Birch Polypore

 

The cap is 5-25cm. The spores are white and sausage shaped. It is not edible to humans .This polypore grows on Birch and can be seen on any Birch wood the world over. It has been used by man for more porposes than almost any other fungus.

Yellow Antler

The fruit body is around 3-10cm high. It's branched like a stags horn. This fungus is golden-yellow or orange. The spore powder is white and very thin. It grows in old coniferous woods particularly on spruce trees. This fungus is not edible.
